Back pain, neck pain or sciatica: the goal is to relieve the pain, then understand its cause so it does not come back. Every treatment starts with a full assessment.

To make it last

What your imaging does, and does not, tell you

A disc herniation visible on MRI is not always the cause of the pain. Population studies find degenerated discs and herniations in a large share of people who have never had back pain. The reverse holds too: severely disabling low back pain sometimes comes with normal imaging.

The clinical assessment connects what the image shows with what you actually feel. A useful plan comes out of that comparison, not out of the image alone.

Low back pain, sciatica, neck pain: different mechanisms

Common low back pain often starts against a background of inactivity, fatigue or stress, and responds well to progressive movement. Strict rest, beyond two days, worsens the outlook.

Sciatica reflects irritation of the sciatic nerve, most often by a disc herniation. The pain travels down the leg along a defined path. It calls for more cautious treatment and monitoring: loss of strength, altered sensation or bladder problems require immediate medical advice.

Neck pain is common in people who spend long hours at a screen. It often comes with tension headaches and pain between the shoulder blades. Treatment combines manual therapy, trigger point work and a review of working positions.

Why the pain comes back

An episode of back pain almost always settles. What makes the long-term difference is what happens between episodes: keeping mobility, strengthening the trunk and hips, and spreading the load through the day rather than holding one position for eight hours.

The aim of treatment is therefore not only to relieve you, but to make you independent: knowing what to do when it flares, and no longer being afraid to move.

Frequently asked questions

Should I rest when my back hurts?

Not beyond a day or two. Returning to adapted activity early shortens the episode and lowers the risk of it becoming chronic.

When should I worry?

Loss of strength in a leg, numbness around the groin, bladder problems, fever, unexplained weight loss, or pain after significant trauma: these call for immediate medical advice.

How many sessions for low back pain?

Often five to ten for an acute episode. Chronic low back pain needs longer follow-up, with a large share of active work.

Does dry needling hurt?

The needle is very fine. You usually feel a brief twitch in the muscle, sometimes soreness the next day. The technique is used when the assessment shows active trigger points.

Can I come without a referral?

Yes, direct access is allowed in the UAE.
